MSC Lirica is the lead ship in her class of cruise ship, owned and operated by MSC Cruises. She was the first newbuild cruise ship to enter service for MSC Cruises. She can accommodate 1,560 passengers in 780 cabins. Her crew complement is approximately 732. MSC Opera is an identical sister ship to the MSC Lirica. Her other sisters in the class, MSC Armonia and MSC Sinfonia are essentially the same but have a smaller funnel and other modifications, such as the bow windows and changes to the interior. To today's standards, this is really a small ship, in fact, it is the smallest ship still in service in the MSC fleet. I booked this cruise just because the itinerary was really interesting, with ports like Malaga, Alicante, Ceuta, Tanger, and Casablanca. So the ship was less important for me, but I really enjoyed it as it was not overcrowded, never had to be in line for restaurants or to find a place in the theater. What I liked more after many cruises on huge ships like MSC Seascape, Royal Wonder of the Seas, is the really small size of the ship. It's like being at home, and not in a huge theme park. Obviously, the small size of the ship has a downside, the ship is moving very much in the sea, it's something to consider if you're used to a bigger ship. Located on on deck 11 it is the spot for informal buffet breakfasts and lunches indeed, but doesn't leave space for any compromise regarding quality and service standards. The sleek and traditional looking MSC Lirica is tastefully designed and decorated with Italian flair. Forget about glizzy neon-style, however; the ship's famed Italian architect Giuseppe de Jorio is known for creating more traditional, as opposed to flashy décor, relying on marble and brass. Most of the public rooms are small and intimate. MSC spent more than $200 million on Lirica and the rest of the Mistral class during a two-year refurbishment program in 2014–2015 that saw a nearly 80-foot-long section sandwiched into the middle of each ship. The "stretching" procedure added nearly 200 more cabins 94 of which have balconies. During the refurbishment, the line also took the chance to update the spa and childcare facilities, as well as to add an interactive water feature called the Spray Park to the top deck.

Βγαίνοντας από το θέατρο στο κατάστρωμα 6 έχουμε το Coffee Corner ένα καφέ μπαρ περίπου 100 θέσεων και ένα Lounge Bar , το Le Cabaret 140 θέσεων που διαθέτει και πίστα όπου φυσικά εκτός των μαθημάτων χορού γίνονται και άλλες δραστηριότητες όπως διαγωνισμοί κουίζ κλπ Συνεχίζοντας υπάρχει το καζίνο του πλοίου φυσικά με πλήρες μπάρ εξυπηρέτησης, όπου εκτός των πολλών κουλοχέρηδων, υπάρχουν και τραπέζια παιχνιδιών με τράπουλα, ρουλέτα και άλλα τυχερά παιχνίδια. Λίγο πιο πίσω μετά τους ανελκυστήρες είναι τα καταστήματα για αγορά επωνύμων κοσμημάτων , γυαλιών ηλίου , ρολογιών και σχετικών αξεσουάρ, μπουτίκ με πασίγνωστες μάρκες ρούχων , παπουτσιών , τσαντών , αλλά και επώνυμες μάρκες καλλυντικών, αρωμάτων κλπ. Για να πραγματοποιήσετε οποιαδήποτε αγορά από τα συγκεκριμένα καταστήματα αλλά και αν θέλετε απολαύσετε π.χ ένα κοκτέιλ στα μπαρ του πλοίου, είναι απαραίτητη προϋπόθεση να γίνει κατάθεση χρημάτων είτε μετρητών είτε μέσω κάρτας στον προσωπικό σας λογαριασμό που αντιστοιχεί στην κάρτα επιβίβασης. Στο τέλος του 6ου καταστρώματος βρίσκεται το εστιατόριο L'Ippocampo χωρητικότητας 400 ατόμων. Στο συγκεκριμένο εστιατόριο υπάρχει αρίθμηση στις θέσεις ενώ και στην κάρτα επιβίβασης αναγράφεται το τραπέζι όπου μπορείτε να καθίσετε και η ώρα σερβιρίσματος. Στα εξωτερικά ντεκς του πλοίου στο κατάστρωμα 6 βρίσκονται χώροι καπνίσματος αλλά και οι σωστικές λέμβοι για πλήρη ασφάλεια των επιβαινόντων. Το Lirica μετά την ανακαίνιση του, έχει μήκος 275μ , 32μ πλάτος 54μ ύψος και συνολικη χωρητικότητα 66.000 τόνων, οπότε μπορεί να μεταφέρει 2.500 επιβάτες και 700 μέλη πληρώματος σε περίπου 1.000 καμπίνες. Στα ψηλότερα καταστρώματα του πλοίου, στο 11 το Vivaldi , στο 12 το Rossini , αλλά και στο 13 υπάρχει η δυνατότητα για φυσική δραστηριότητα αφού εδώ κυρίως διοργανώνονται θεματικές βραδιές για εκτόνωση με χορό και διασκέδαση. Ο μεσαίος ανελκυστήρας βγάζει στο κατάστρωμα 11 σε έναν ανοιχτό χώρο εστίασης 260 θέσεων το La Pergola , οπου εκτός του μπαρ, υπάρχει και η πιτσαρία του σκάφους. Προχωρώντας προς την πλώρη του πλοίου συναντούμε το Doremi Spray Park με πολλούς εκτοξευτές νερού , νεροτσουλήθρες και άλλα παιχνίδια μέσα στο νερό. Στην συνέχεια δύο τζακούζι για υδρομασάζ και τις δύο μεγάλες πισίνες του πλοίου για ενήλικες που γεμίζουν με θαλασσινό νερό. Δίπλα στις πισίνες στα ξύλινα ντεκς, υπάρχουν ξαπλώστρες για ποτό και ηλιοθεραπεία. Ανεβαίνοντας στο κατάστρωμα 12 εκτός έχει χώρο για ηλιοθεραπεία και χαράξεις για επιδαπέδια παιχνίδια shuffleboard, αλλά και η ντισκοτέκ του πλοίου , η Blue Disco. Τα καταστρώματα έχουν ονόματα διάσημων Ιταλών κλασσικών συνθετών και μουσικών, ενώ υπάρχουν 130 σουίτες, 94 καμπίνες με μπαλκόνι, 409 καμπίνες με θέα στον ωκεανό, δηλαδή με παράθυρο στη θάλασσα και 355 εσωτερικές. Στο τελευταίο κατάστρωμα του σκάφους στο 13ο επίπεδο , υπάρχει και ειδικά διαμορφωμένος χώρος όπου μπορεί κάποιος να εξασκηθεί ή να διασκεδάσει παίζοντας γκολφ. Στο ντεκ νο 11 το Vivaldi στην πλώρη του πλοίου βρίσκεται το γυμναστήριο όπου μπορεί κάποιος να ασκηθεί δωρεάν. Εδώ βρίσκονται και οι σαουνες , το χαμάμ , η αίθουσα θαλασσοθεραπείας το μασάζ και το σπα με την ανάλογη χρέωση φυσικά. Άλλοι χώροι όπου μπορεί κάποιος να ψυχαγωγηθεί ανάλογα με τα προσωπικά ενδιαφέροντα του , είναι η βιβλιοθήκη του πλοίου , το ίντερνετ καφέ και το card room στο κατάστρωμα 6 , ο παιδότοπος για την δημιουργική απασχόληση των μικρών επιβατών στο κατάστρωμα 11 , και φυσικά το εξειδικευμένο εστιατόριο στην ασιατική κουζίνα , το Kaito Sushi Bar με χωρητικότητα περίπου 50 ατόμων, και η αίθουσα με διασκέδαση καραόκε για τους εφήβους επιβάτες στο κατάστρωμα νο 12.

Wir sind in Marseille zugestiegen, aber das geht prinzipiell an jedem Hafenstop der Route, Barcelona, Tanger, Casablanca, Ceuta, Alicante, Malaga und Genua, das Schiff fährt die Route derzeit (April 2023) alle zehn Tage. Die Kabine war im 10. Deck, der Seegang überwiegend ruhig, bis auf zwei Ausnahmen - aber immer machbar, zumal man nur zwei Seetage hat. Die Route kann auch im Frühling empfohlen werden, es ist an allen Häfen "T-Shirt-Warm", in Malaga, Tanger, Casablanca und Ceuta kann man auch bereits am Meer baden.

There are currently 51 crew members on board the MSC cruise ship. They are mainly essential crew to keep the vessel maintained during its pause of operations. The ship has remained on hold since January and according to the Cruise Ship Tracker, has been at the port since March 1, 2021. MSC Lirica entered service in 2003 and is over 65,000 gross tons with a guest capacity of over 1,900 at double occupancy along with 700 international crew members. For now, MSC Cruises has canceled East Mediterranean and Northern Europe cruises through April 2021.
